Nano Technology Process

TfI's nano- process technologies allows for nano-composites to be inserted into polymer surfaces post the production of the polymer product. This process allows for even distribution and dispersion of nano-composites into the thinnest of polymer products, such as thinned walled products like plastic film or bottles, and three dimensional fine polymer structures, such as medical devices like stents.

This technology can be applied to any nano-composite and any polymer delivering a platform technology upon which applications can be based.

Current applications being developed include gas barrier layers in thin film plastics for the food and packaging industry, anti-microbial layers for the medical device industry, strengthened fibers for the textile industry and anti graffiti coatings for the transport industry.

In all cases the technology embeds the desired function beneath the surface of the polymer as opposed to applying it as a layer, delivering long lifetimes and low cost.
