home / idea submission
Researchers are invited to let TfI know if they have ideas they feel
are suitable and we will arrange a one-to-one meeting with our team to discuss your idea and initiate the evaluation process.
It is important at this stage that you do not reveal to us (or anyone
else) the key part of your idea. What we do need is a brief one paragraph of the application area, or the enabling technology, or the
problem solved. For example, if your idea is a technical solution to a problem you
have seen, then a brief
paragraph highlighting the problem and the general form your solution
(i.e., 'it's a laser device', 'it's a software algorithm') would be
sufficient. Likewise, if your idea is a novel application of existing
technology, then a brief paragraph describing the current problem that
your application will address is all that is required.
We will contact
you back, discuss with you any agreements we have in place with your
university (or employer), put in place a confidentiality agreement with
you if one does not already exist with your employer, and then finally
arrange a meeting for you to formally disclose the idea.
If you would like further information,
please read our information sheet. We look forward
to hearing from you.
